97th Burning of Zozobra

Zozobra Newbie? Get ready for Santa Fe’s hottest party! One of New Mexico’s most enduring icons, Zozobra was created in 1924 by legendary artist Will Shuster and is now set ablaze annually by the Santa Fe Kiwanis Club. The 97th Burning of Zozobra will take place on Friday, September 3, 2021, Labor Day weekend, and it's the best way to shake off the gloom of a these truly unprecedented times. The Burning of Zozobra takes place at Dusk followed by spectacular firework show.

Kids 10 and under are free. No Re-Entry No Refunds Gates open at 4:00 PM ZTV (our version of MTV) Dance Party starts at 7:00 PM Zozobra is a rain-or-shine event, and although the show is scheduled to start at 9:10 PM, weather conditions can result in an earlier or later start time. Event ends after the fireworks finale Kiwanis Club - Fundraiser for kids. ALL SALES FINAL/ TICKETS NON-REFUNDABLE 

The Santa Fe Kiwanis has protocols in place for presenting a safe 97th Burning of Zozobra. They will be observing all Federal and New Mexico State public health orders currently in place and will institute any additional changes required on Friday, September 3rd by our Federal and State public health officials. * Proof of Vaccination or a negative COVID test result with 72 hours of the event is required for entry. If you purchased a ticket before this requirement was put in place and you do not wish to comply, please contact Kiwanis for a full refund. * Face masks are required for attendees who are unvaccinated and encouraged for everyone who attends. The New Mexico Department of Health encourages double- masking for an extra layer of protection.

The grants were received by the following non-profits: Esperanza Shelter; Cooking with Kids; The Sky Center/Suicide Intervention Project;St. Elizabeth’s Shelter/Casa Familia;Girls, Inc. of Santa Fe;El Rancho de Las Golondrinas;Gerard’s House;Solace Crisis Treatment Center;YouthWorks;Reading Quest; and Youth Shelters and Family Services.
