Chimayó History Museum

Located in the former home of the world-renowned Chimayó weaving family, the Ortegas, this museum chronicles the rich history of Chimayó, from past to present. With its original whitewashed mud walls, ceiling beams, and hardened mud floors, the adobe building reflects its history as part of a  Spanish Colonial settlement established in 1740. You’ll view exhibits of photographs and artifacts documenting the daily lives, work and faith of the people of Chimayó .
