102nd Burning of Zozobra
Say goodbye to all your gloom at The Burning of Zozbra, a 50-ft towering, menacing marionette, otherwise known as "Old Man Gloom." The event takes place the Friday before Labor Day in Santa Fe's downtown Fort Marcy Park. Staged annually by Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe as an exciting and fiery finale to the last days of summer.
Zozobra was created in 1924 by artist Will Shuster, a member of the Santa Fe Art Colony, and has been a beloved part of Santa Fe since 1926. The pageantry includes musical perofrmances, as well as fireworks that celebrate Zozobra's end... that is, until next year.
