Hibernation Hike at Cerrillos Hills State Park
Wildlife have many adaptations to get through the lean months of winter. On this guided hike, we will learn and discuss strategies that different animals follow to conserve energy.
Meet at the main park entrance, 1/2 mile north of Cerrillos village. Permit fee is $5 per vehicle exact change cash or check or free with a valid New Mexico State Park pass.
Park: Open every day from sunrise to 9PM daily. The entrance is off County Road 59, 1/2 mile north of Cerrillos Village. Permit fee is $5 per vehicle exact cash or check and payable upon arrival at the park entrance self-pay station. Park trails map available here or upon arrival to the park.
Visitor Center: 37 Main Street on the corner of 1st and Main in Cerrillos Village. Open 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday. Other times by appointment. Call 505 474-0196.
