Still Life Drawing from Nature at Cerrillos Hills State Park

Learn to draw subjects like dead wood, rocks, and other natural specimens from the Cerrillos Hills State Park.

Drawing materials will be provided however, participants may bring their own supplies. Recommended for ages 14 and up. Accompanying parent or guardian required for participants under 18 years old.

The drawing class will be hosted at the Cerrillos Hills State Park visitor center - 37 Main Street at the corner of First and Main streets in Los Cerrillos village.

Date/Time: Saturday, August 16, 2025 beginning at 1pm

Visitor Center: 37 Main Street at the corner of 1st and Main in Cerrillos Village. Open weekends from 10am until 4pm and by appointment. Call 505-474-0196.

Park: Open every day from sunrise to 9PM. Park entrance is 1/2 mile north of Cerrillos Village on County Road 59. Permit fee for NM residents is $5. Accepted proof of residency are a NM issued ID or a vehicle with license plate registered in New Mexico. Out-of-state visitors are subject to the permit fee of $10 per vehicle year round. Permit fee is due upon arrival and must be exact cash or check. Follow the permit steps listed and be sure the white permit slip is visible from outside your vehicle.
